ירושלים, 1 באפריל 2019 –טבע תעשיות פרמצבטיות בע"מ  (NYSE and TASE: TEVA)  הודיעה היום כי מושב של שלושה חברים של משרד הפטנט האירופי אשרר את תוקפו של פטנט מספר EP 2 949 335 המכסה את COPAXONE® 40 מ"ג באירופה. המשרד יפרסם את נימוקיו המלאים בכתב בחודשים הבאים.

COPAXONE® הוא מולקולה מורכבת במיוחד המחייבת הליכי ייצור קנייניים עקביים. הליכים אלו משליכים על ההרכב, הטוהר והעקביות בין אצווה לאצווה של COPAXONE®. הפטנט מגן על הזריקה התת עורית של גלטירמר אצטט40 מ"ג הניתנת שלוש פעמים בשבוע לטיפול בסוגים מסוימים של טרשת נפוצה.

ריצ'רד דניאל, סמנכ"ל בכיר, מנהל החטיבה המסחרית באירופה, אמר כי "אנו מרוצים מכך שמשרד הפטנטים האירופי הסכים עם עמדת טבע בנוגע לפטנט של COPAXONE® 40 מ"ג. טבע תמשיך להגן בנחישות על תוקפו של הקניין הרוחני המגן על COPAXONE® 40 מ"ג". טבע כבר השיגה צווי מניעה מקדמיים על בסיס הפטנט האירופי EP 2 949 335 בכדי למנוע מסחור של גרסאות של glatiramer acetate בבלגיה, דנמרק וסלובקיה.
