יסודות המדע
כמדי שנה, גם השנה נרתמו הורים בבית הספר היסודי "היובל" ברעננה, המונה כ-360 תלמידים, להעביר לילדיהם את "יום המדע והטכנולוגיה".
הורים מתחומים שונים, בהם מדענים, עורכי דין, מהנדסים ורופאים הגיעו ביום שישי לבית הספר ושיתפו את ילדיהם וחבריהם לספסל הלימודים בניסויים מדעיים מרתקים וסיפקו הצצה לעולם המדע הקסום.
"זו מסורת שנמשכת זו השנה החמישית בבית הספר, שבה הורים מעבירים שיעורים בנושאים שונים הקשורים למדע. הרוח החיה מאחורי היוזמה היא של בעלי שלומי, ואני כמובן גאה להירתם ליוזמה, להעשיר את דור העתיד שלנו ולגרות את סקרנותם למדע. השנה העברתי שיעור – בשיתוף עם מדריכת יוגה – על הקשר בין פעילות גופנית, נשימה נכונה והשפעתן החיובית על חיינו", מספרת רינת מושקוביץ, העובדת בשרשרת אספקה לשווקים הבינלאומיים בטבע כפר-סבא, ואמא להילה, עדי ומעיין.
"הורים אחרים לימדו שיעורים בתחום התזונה, למשל השפעת הסוכר על גופנו, מערכת השמש, רובוטיקה ועוד נושאים רבים ומגוונים שהומחשו בניסויים. עבור ההורים מדובר בהזדמנות מצוינת לתרום ולשתף מהידע שלהם. העניין וההתלהבות שהילדים מגלים מביאים עוד ועוד הורים להירתם לפעילות מדי שנה", הוסיפה רינת.
עבור התלמידים הצעירים מדובר ביום בלתי שגרתי הפותח צוהר לעולם המדע. בדרך כלל מדע נתפס אצלם כתחום מורכב מאד, אך יום המדע בבית הספר הופך את הנושא לחווייתי ונגיש גם לילדים בכיתות הנמוכות. די היה לראות את תגובת התלמידים ל"פלא" שנוצר בריאקציה הכימית כשמערבבים מספר חומרים הזמינים כמעט בכל בית – כמו סבון כלים וצבע מאכל – יחד עם מי חמצן ותמיסה של אשלגן יודי וחוזים בהתפרצות מרהיבה של קצף צבעוני.
לניסוי הזה הוענק הכינוי "משחת שיניים לפילים". קסם אמיתי.
יוזמה פרטית יפה זו עולה בקנה אחד עם מדיניותה של טבע לעידוד לימודי המדעים בקרב ילדים ובני נוער. במסגרת מדיניות זו הצטרפה השנה טבע לקואליציה של '5פי2' – בהובלת משרד החינוך במטרה להכפיל את מספר תלמידי התיכון ברמת 5 יחידות במתמטיקה ובמדעים. כמו כן, בשנים האחרונות טבע אף הכשירה מורים לביולוגיה ללמוד גם את מקצוע הכימיה. בנוסף, עובדים ומנהלים בחברה לוקחים חלק בפרויקט החברתי "סודקות את תקרת הזכוכית", המעניק תמיכה, הכוונה ומנטורינג לנערות מהפריפריה להן פוטנציאל (לא ממומש) ללימודי מדעים, וכן פיתחנו את "המעבדה של טבע" לגירוי סקרנותם של ילדים ובני הנוער לתחום ועוד...
הילדים הם העתיד של כולנו. מדע וטכנולוגיה הם תחומים המשמעותיים לעתידם של ילדינו. מכאן שככל ונקדים לחשוף אותם ולגרום להם להתאהב בהם – כך נשפיע לטובה על עתידם ועתידנו. ברעננה כבר מבינים את זה. כנראה שזו גם הסיבה שראש העיר חיים ברוידא פינה מזמנו והגיע לבית הספר בכדי להתרשם מקרוב מיום המדע והטכנולוגיה, וייתכן, כי היוזמה המוצלחת תיושם ותורחב לכל בתי הספר בעיר.
